Adult Cooking Class Schedule – Fall 2020

You will eat what you make, so bring your appetite!

AMG is also available for private group cooking classes.

What To Expect: Great cooking isn’t about recipes—it’s about techniques. In our classes you’ll work together with other students in a fun, hands-on environment led by our professional chef instructors.

  • Classes are 2 hours
  • Hands-on classes are limited to 16 students
  • You will be standing, cooking and working for most of the class
  • Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and have long hair tied back
  • You will enjoy a generous taste of every dish
Cancellation: Tuition is non-refundable. However, if you cancel within 46-hours of the class date, you may use your reservation towards one of our future classes within one year of the original class. Or send a friend in your place and receive the recipes booklet to bring home. AMG Catering reserves the right to cancel class. You will be notified via email or phone. Photos from class may be used for promotional purposes.

Wednesday, September 16, 2020, 7-9 pm

      • Sauteed pork with cider and sage
      • Chicken “tagine” with lemons, olives and pomegranate
      • Butternut squash risotto with fresh herbs




#2 – LET’S COOK FISH $98/pp – THIS CLASS NOW SOLD OUT

Wednesday, September 30, 2020, 7-9 pm

You’ll learn different ways to cook fish as well as the how-to’s of
buying, storing and substituting one fish for another.

      • Parchment -roasted salmon
      • Asian-braised COD with bok choy
      • Spanish style “garlicky” shrimp

#3 – AUTUMN HARVEST (VEGETARIAN CLASS) – $98/pp

The crisp days of autumn are coming and we will cook with the following:

      • Pears, pumpkins, squash, corn, bell peppers, cranberries and apple

Grab your favorite beers and come join us..

      • Cheddar-apple beer cheese soup with soft pretzels
      • “Sheet-pan” roasted brats with potatoes and brussel sprouts
      • Bread pudding with cherries

#5 – BASIC COOKING TECHNIQUES $98/pp

Wednesday, October 21, 2020 7-9 pm

We will cover the following in this class:

      • Basic knife skills, Browning meats (perfect skillet steak)
      • Making pan sauces (red wine-shallot pan sauce)
      • Roasting root vegetables and cooking leafy greens (swiss chard with garlic and lemon)




#6 –  THANKSGIVING SIDE DISHES – $98

Tired of the same old side dishes? Come join us and learn to make
these delicious and healthy dishes for your holiday feast

      • Garlicky kale salad with crispy chickpeas
      • Ginger-Miso acorn squash with toasted pistachios
      • Butternut squash orzo with feta and sage
      • Roasted brussels with squash, dried cranberries and Dijon vinaigrette




#7 –  AUTUMN SAUCE CLASS – $98

Wednesday, November 11, 2020, 7-9 pm

We will “pair” proteins and veggies with the following sauce

      • Maple-balsamic vinaigrette
      • Apple cider-sage sauce
      • Braised shallot-rosemary and red wine sauce




#8 –  HOLIDAY APPETIZER CLASS  $98

Grab a friend and a bottle of wine and master some great new
holiday appetizers to bring to holiday gatherings

      • Mini mexican shrimp cocktails
      • Crispy caprese meatball stuffed with mozzarella
      • Pumpkin-carrot soup shooters with coconut cream
      • Bacon-arugla apple “bites”
